Letter From The Hockey Commissioner… Dominick Favalora
The fall season is under way with the playoffs still going on. The fall season saw a minor division that had 4 teams with 14 children per team play some great hockey. D. G. Hockey for the first time went to shootouts at the end of a regulation time. There were some great shootouts both by the goalies and the skaters. I would say that everyone liked it and we will keep this going on in the spring season. Next, I would like to thank the sponsors David and Nancy Legaz – RE/MAX Universal Real Estate, Arthur DiBiase Mason Contractors, Venezia Tile, Cozy Cottage Restaurant and J.D. Opticians .We say thanks a lot.
I would also like to thank the coaches who step up and really did a great job teaching the children the game, and most important, good sportsmanship. Thank you John Murry, Dan Litteri, George Brockman, Steve Mangno, Dennis Lablades, Jim Martino and Angelo Todaro.
A special thanks to Vito Gerasci, coach of the Mites Division, for giving 110% to the younger children in teaching them the game of hockey. This year saw an increase in enrollment in our mite division.
I would like to also acknowledge Keith Lippert Jr, Edward Johnston & Robbie Schule for officiating at our games and also teaching our children. Thanks for a job well done.
I would also like to thank Francis Gaizo, who as my Assistant Commissioner, did a great job. To all those parents who helped either by cleaning the rink, keeping score or keeping the time clock, thanks. I just hope in the future parents will continue to help out.
The spring season is just around the corner and registration will start in February.
I am looking forward to seeing all our fall hockey players returning for our Spring season.
See you in the Spring,
Dominick Favalora
Hockey Commissioner
